This Image is a poster mockup of a lyric poster. This was done as a typographic exercise using a set of lyrics or inspirational quote. I chose lyrics from Disturbed's song, The Vengeful One, because their music stirs powerful emotions within me and are relevant to modern day issues. I wanted to capture that emotion using an abstract background mixed with the current typography. I colored the middle typeface in red to add dramatic and intense feelings, while using a larger typeface colored white for the first and third part of the song. This is to draw viewer's attention to what's being said and encourage others to think.
This image is a poster mockup of a company holiday event for Darkstar Intelligence called Darktoberfest. It's held every year on the month of October, and each location is different. I wanted to go for something simple, yet connected with the month of October. So I opted for a purple smoke cloud to give an ominous aura. The Darkstar logo is a modified version of the original, using silver and black instead of red & navy blue. I wanted to use these colors because silver isn't as bright as white, which would have thrown off the design element and emotion I'm trying to capture. As for the information, I used an old location that had taken place during 2022 since there is currently no information on this years Darktoberfest.
This image is a mockup of a birthday invitation for my class project. I chose the colors purple and yellow because they are really rich colors. Together they symbolize royalty or something of high importance, which is what I wanted to show without being too thorough with the design. Originally, the design was very simple and had next to no yellow save for the typography, making it plain. By adding a yellow trim to the edges and a flap on the top cover, it makes it look like an envelope.
